remember when you were looking forward to right now...[SIE💡]

I've been reflecting lately on the concept of "there's a time and season for everything." It's the dead of winter here in North Idaho, and I can't wait to get out in my garden in a few months and plan our food crops for this year.

I can guarantee you, that if I didn't live in a place that experienced all the seasons and I was gardening year round, I would not be excited about yet another weekend outside pulling weeds.

My point is... try to take a minute to appeciate where you're at in your life and at this point time.

Remember when you were looking forward to where you're at now. Getting to the next season, or next stage in life, will happen whether you're anxious about it or not.

Have a good week my friends. 😘

TIPS TO WORK BETTER

1. Daren Smith of Craftsman Creative is one of my favorite new-to-me entrepreneurs. We met at Craft + Commerce and he gifted me his book (Craftsman Creative - well worth the read). Daren has a fantastic newsletter dedicated to helping artists and creatives grow their businesses. Subscribe here.

2. If you get overwhelmed by decision-making and analysis paralysis — especially when it comes to your business — read this article about Reversible and Irreversible Decisions. It outlines how once you are faced with a decision, the question becomes whether you should make it fast or slow. Read more and make a move.

3. If you're new here, or you can't tell, I love anything that makes things simple. And I think most of us would agree. It's not that you (or I) can't understand complicated subjects, it's that doing so uses a lot of brainpower. It's brainpower I need to manage all the commitments and cups I have to fill in my life. That's why I'm digging Dan Koe's IG content. He takes complicated subjects and philosophies around life and work, and turns them into a simple graphic that illustrates his point perfectly. Check him out.

TIPS TO LIVE WELL

1. Despite growing up being told any emotions other than positive ones are unwelcome and useless, I've been able to recognize as an adult how necessary it is to acknowledge and reflect on our emotions to be healthy. "From Overwhelmed to Empowered: How Labeling Your Emotions Can Help You Take Control" helps outline why labeling emotions enables you to be proactive instead of reactive in the moment. Read more.

2. If you're aware that you want to make better decisions in life (see work better tip #2), it's probably because you've made your fair share of poor ones 🤦‍♀️. This video by Ali Abdaal gets to the heart of how to make better choices in life, and he goes through some amazing questions you can ask yourself to help. Watch here.

3. If you're a homeschool-ing family, chances are you have some clear values around your idea of living well and what it means to you. Check out the Homeschool Subjects newsletter to get teaching and homeschool tips, news, and resources delivered to your inbox every Sunday night. Get it here.
